Hooping

Diane spinning hoop at the 2007 Vancouver International Jazz Festival

Yes, this ancient invention is more than a 1958 craze! Beyond the usual hip–swinging loop, there are countless other variations and moves. Many of them are easy enough for most people to learn without too much effort. Discover a whole new realm of exercise and fun—for kids and adults alike!

A note on terms: though it may have once been called "hula" hoop, we in the hoop community call it hooping since there really is no "hula" involved in what we do. That term wasn't accurate in the first place, and we like the simplicity of hooping better anyway!

Learn to Hoop

Want to learn how? We don't run classes (see Christa's website below), but we do answer requests for one-on-one or small group instruction. Diane's specialty is dancing inside the hoop. David prefers to tinker with tricks. Learn from one or both of us—either way, it's an addictive, fun form of exerise!
