The biggest news this month is our move to a new location. We have a new home studio on Prince Albert St and E 10th Ave. We're already completely set up and offering lessons almost every day.

Article Updates
We have updated the article Creative Partner Dancing to focus a bit more on what this style actually is. We have also written a new introduction to How We Teach Creative Partner Dancing. It's a great idea to visit both pages if you're trying to get a better sense of what it is we do.

Fundraiser at the Ukrainian Hall
We've been asked to perform at a fundraiser for the Tropak Ukrainian Dance Theatre this Saturday, March 10, at the Ukrainian Hall on Ash St. We've decided to perform a completely new piece called "The Evidence," inspired by the visual and thematic style of 1940's film noir detective movies. Our second piece will be a completely improvised dance routine that we're calling "In the Moment." Details about the event can be found here: Tropak Ukrainian Dance Theatre website.
What? No group classes right now?
You may have noticed that we currently have no mini-class schedule arranged. For now we are focusing on private lessons with our students. Why? Our current students have found that they learn better at their own pace, and they can determine what direction we take as we teach them. This allows them to proceed in a way that best suits their goals for dancing, whether they plan to dance together at functions or join Vancouver's swing, salsa, or other dance scenes. However, this doesn't mean we won't offer group classes ever again. Stay tuned for spring/summer updates.

New class schedule
A new class schedule for 2007 is up, along with descriptions of each style. Let us know soon if you would like to sign up!
Don't send us to the junkyard!
We've been hearing about email programs and clients that like to eat our messages. We wouldn't want you to miss important information, so please remember to add all nightanddaydance.com addresses to your non-junk list. If you need help with this, please let us know!

We're hard at work on our next performance which is scheduled for early December. It's a big company Christmas party, and we get to let our inner Fred and Ginger shine through! If all goes as planned, the photos will be great and we'll even have some video, and we'll post it all here afterward.
Of course, one performance doesn't mean we can't do others. We're still available to teach and perform at any manner of events or parties whether the occasion is Christmas or otherwise!

We've added two new sections to our poi spinning page. The first covers the concept of fine mental-motor control (for lack of an already existing label), and the second deals with tangents. Both brief articles are aimed at helping poi spinners improve or add new dimensions to their spinning.

I'm opening Thursdays at Douglas Park as a second drop-in class for just $10. As long as the weather holds, we'll continue to meet outside. Once it starts raining on us, we'll meet there at the community centre but then move to a covered area (exactly where depends on how many people show up). It's always a good idea to let me know if you're coming.
This week, the Friday class starts at 4 pm at Just Dance. It's still $15, and you won't likely find another available space as big as this one!

Still more updates on the website. They never end! If you've made it this far, and you happened to come across any broken links or missing pages, we'd love it if you let us know. Thanks!
Our Creative Partner Dancing series at the Roundhouse has been cancelled for now. Stay tuned for future class announcements. For now, take a look at current class and lesson offerings.

This Friday, October 13, 2006, we're once again teaching poi at Just Dance! In the same night we're also teaching a half hour introduction to partner dancing in a class on connection.
At the moment we're also undergoing yet another drastic facelift, and we're crossing our fingers and hoping that we haven't broken all of our links, lost pictures, or confused visitors. Please be patient while we work out all the kinks!
