Water-Filled Balloons
A Better Way to Hit Oneself
Although we no longer have the bruises to prove it, both Diane and I learned to spin with tennis ball and chain poi. My first year of spinning involved many an ego-dampening collision between ball and body.
It wasn't until my second or third year of spinning that I learned about sock poi, and I just happened to hear about balloons filled with water. First, however, an image or two may be helpful:
Not This!
This!
These are standard(ish) 10-12 inch balloons with fairly thick sides and filled until they bulge slightly. I used to spin with 80 gram weights, and now I prefer 100 grams. For extra strength, I sometimes add a second balloon. In over three years of spinning and practicing and handing my poi to out to tazmanian dev- er, I mean kids, I've only ever had one full breakage and two or three leaks. That's not a bad record, and I prefer learning new moves with something that won't give me a black eye!

Just Tell Me How Much!
Each pair is $35. No part of the cost of your purchase will go toward charity, unless you consider supporting two working artists a small form of charity. We do! My wife and I also contribue a small portion of our income to a handful of charities every month. In a way, by supporting us, you are also supporting them!
What's Included?
Each pair of poi includes two water-filled balloons as weights. They're much kinder upon impact than tennis balls, juggling balls, and packets of rocks (yes, I actually met someone who spun rock poi!) and they almost never break. If they do break during normal use, we'll replace them free of charge!
Nothing else is included - no packaging, no dessicant packets, no batteries (and no batteries are needed), no instruction booklet, no warranty card, no price tag, and no inspection sticker.
I Want a Pair!
