Wedding First Dance
Dance is Memorable
Wherever we go, whatever we do, we remember the dancing. Was it effortless that day? Did we make anyone smile? Did we inspire someone else to dance with us?
It makes sense to give dance an elevated place on such an important occasion. Dance moves people and brings them together, and it helps leave a lasting impression on both those who experience it and those who watch it. Why not spend a little time learning how to do it well?
Besides, with a little patience and time, anyone can learn how.
Choose Music
It helps a lot when couples choose music they really like. We can make suggestions, but there's really nothing better than dancing to your favorite song together. When you contact us, let us know what you've chosen or if you need help!
Choose a Style
If you don't know what song you would like to use, you can start instead by thinking about the style of your dance. Would you like a light, romantic wedding dance with flowing turns and dips? Maybe you envision a tango like the one in Scent of a Woman. Whatever your preference, the dance style you choose will influence your experience on the dance floor. You can come to us with a style already in mind, or we can help you find one that fits your personality and needs.
Partner Dancing or Choreography?
There are some important differences between learning to partner dance together and learning a choreography.

Wedding First Dance Songs
This is a list of the songs that our students have used for their weddings. Some are old favorites, like the first song "At Last," and some are unique to the couple who chose them, like "Crush." Every single song helped define each couple's dance - not only did they all dance slightly different styles, but they all danced with unique character, repeated by no one else.
Use this list to get some ideas about your own music, compare your choice to what has already been used, or to simply jog your memory. In the future we'll do our best to add audio clips to this page for easy sampling. For now, we recommend using a site like Amazon.com to search for samples.
